Spletni seminar - Pristop h kroničnemu artritisu - več kot le analgetiki

Spoštovane kolegice in kolegi,

Tudi letošnjo sezono izobraževanj začenjamo z izjemno zanimivim spletnim seminarjem, tokrat na temo kroničnega artritisa pri psih. Z artritisom se v ambulanti srečujemo vsakodnevno, njegova pojavnost pa narašča sorazmerno z naraščanjem povprečne starosti psov, s tem pa so povezani tudi vse večji izzivi veterinarjev v zvezi z zdravljenjem in obvladovanjem kroničnega artritisa. Zakaj je pomemben multimodalni pristop k artritisu, nas bodo naučili odlični predavatelji Hannah Capon, Jana Gams in Matthew Brunke. Vabljeni, da se nam pridružite 31. januarja popoldne! Seminar bo potekal deloma v slovenskem (Jana Gams), deloma pa v angleškem jeziku (ostali predavatelji) ter bo točkovno ovrednoten s strani Veterinarske zbornice Slovenije.

Predavatelji:

Hannah Capon, DVM, MRCVS
Hannah Capon graduated from Cambridge University in 2002 and has since worked in a wide range of veterinary settings, from sole-charge first opinion practice to emergency teamwork environments. Her career has given her valuable insight into the complexities of veterinary care, particularly in the management of chronic conditions.
Hannah has a strong interest in chronic pain management, geriatrics, musculoskeletal health, and rehabilitation. Her dedication to these fields has been widely recognized, earning her the 2025 World Small Animal Veterinary Association Welfare Award in 2025, the 2020 Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Impact Award, 2019 CEVA Vet of the Year, and a finalist spot for 2019 Petplan Vet of the Year.
She is the founder of Canine Arthritis Management (CAM), an online educational and support platform designed to help both pet owners and veterinary professionals improve the care of arthritic dogs. Through CAM, she has played a key role in raising awareness and providing practical guidance on managing canine arthritis.
Hannah’s work continues to support and educate the veterinary community, ensuring that dogs with arthritis receive better pain management and quality of life.

Predavatelji:

Jana Gams, DVM, CCRP
is a veterinarian and the founder of Dogs4motion Canine Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine in Slovenia, Europe, where she leads a multidisciplinary team focused on rehabilitation, performance conditioning, and recovery strategies for dogs of all life stages and activity levels - from post-injury recoveries to elite canine athletes preparing for top-level competitions such as the World Agility, FCI Obedience, and IGP Championships. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Veterinary Faculty, University of Ljubljana in 2017 and completed the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) program through the University of Tennessee in 2019. Jana frequently lectures at events across Europe and internationally, and serves as an instructor in both the CCRP and CCFT programs, sharing her expertise in functional recovery, performance optimisation, and injury prevention. An active competitor herself in agility and FCI obedience at the international level, Jana brings a unique dual perspective to her work - blending real-world experience in dog sports with advanced clinical knowledge. Through the Dogs4motion Academy, she creates educational resources for dog owners, trainers, and professionals around the world, empowering them with evidence-based, practical knowledge to support their dogs’ movement and well-being.

Jana Gams, DVM, CCRP

Predavatelji:

Matthew W. Brunke, DVM, DACVSMR (Canine), CCAT
grew up in New York City and earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts, graduating in 2004. He is certified in rehabilitation, pain management, acupuncture, and manual therapy. In 2017, Dr. Brunke completed his residency in veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation, achieving board certification in 2018. As a specialist in veterinary sports medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Brunke focuses on diagnosing and treating complex mobility disorders—both orthopedic and neurologic. He employs a wide range of advanced therapies, including orthobiologics, hydrogels, and radionuclide therapy. These modalities are used to treat tendon and ligament injuries, manage arthritis, and address neurologic conditions such as lumbosacral (LS) disease. Dr. Brunke has a particular passion for caring for active-duty and retired working dogs. He is a founding faculty member of the CCAT Rehabilitation Program, serves on the scientific review boards of JAVMA and AJVR, and is actively involved in clinical research. In addition, Dr. Brunke serves on the Board of Directors for Paws of Honor, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing veterinary care for retired military and law enforcement K9s. He practices at Veterinary Referral Associates (VRA) in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
